Scott Solomon, Ph.D., Rice University, brought his biology class to Big Thicket for the purpose of conducting a short and intense inventory of the Turkey Creek Unit. This is the second year Solomon has conducted a biology class bio-blitz and findings are being posted on iNaturalist.org.
We are proud to announce that the 6th installment of Big Thicket Science Conference will be held spring 2015 in Nacogdoches Texas. In response to growing interest in the Ecoregion, the scope of the meeting has been broadened to include the West Gulf Coastal Plain (including: the Piney Woods of East Texas, Western Louisiana, Southeastern Oklahoma, and Southwestern Arkansas).
